In early July 2024, our founder, Ismail Stonewall’s beloved grandmother, was diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer. By the time doctors found it, the cancer had already spread to her lungs and bones. It was simply too late. All that could be offered was comfort and love in her final days. Just a few short weeks later, she passed away.

In the midst of grief, Ismail came across a sobering truth: according to the American Cancer Society, late-stage breast cancer has only a 30% survival rate over five years. But there’s hope—if caught early, that rate soars to 99%.

That contrast was too powerful to ignore. From that heartbreak, breastwater was born—not as a cure, but as a call to action.

We know that a drink won’t defeat cancer. But together, we can raise awareness, empower conversations, and most importantly, encourage early detection. Our mission is simple and deeply personal: help more people catch breast cancer early, when it’s still treatable, when lives can still be saved. 

Together, we can shift outcomes. Together, we can honor those we’ve lost—and fight for those still here.
